Riverfolk friends and fans,

I regret that I have had to cancel the concert that Riverfolk (Becca and Chas) was scheduled to play October 1st, at Barb’s basement in Milwaukee. We will reschedule at some later date.

There are a couple of other shows later in October that we will decide on shortly. The fact is I cannot sing. I can barely speak most days.

Shortly after the CD release in July, I came down with a severe case of bronchitis. I came out the other side with a brutal cough that injured my voice box. I have been diagnosed with chronic laryngitis and am now working with a throat specialist toward recovery. It has become apparent that this will be slow, but he has left me confident that I will recover.

One thing I need to do is take more seriously the directive to not sing. This is hard to do, but I need to let the muscles recover. As I do recover, Becca and I will start playing out a little and bring the rest of the group back to rehearse. We will be back.

I have no idea how long this will take, but I will stay in touch.

Thanks for listening, now and in the past. It means a lot to me these days.

Chas
